In line with the ecological spirit which Cayro tries to convey through the games they manufacture, the wood used to make these Skittles came from reforestation projects.

ABOUT THE SKITTLES GAME

There are numerous regional variations in the game of Skittles, ranging from the size, shape and weight of the skittles and balls, to the number of skittles, the size of the bowling alley and a thousand other aspects. A thorough analysis would be never-ending; however, the version we have here is an unusual variant of indoor skittles which originated in France under the name of quilles. From here it crossed over to England, where it became enormously popular in the 14th century and ended up becoming a favorite gambling game in taverns and a target for condemnation from moralists, along with other games of chance.

In the earliest history of the game in Northen Europe, the objects which used to be thrown at the skittles were not spheroid but flat, like the "quarter of mutton" or the "cheese". Later on, in the Netherlands and Germany, bowls with hollows for the fingers were used, similar to those used nowadays for American bowling, the descendant of games of skittles which were introduced to the New World by Dutch emigrants in the 18th century.
